How Use Your Melts

Simply remove from the packaging or container, break off the desired amount off wax and place in the top of your melter. The wax will melt slowly in the dish as it heats up and releases the fragrance. When the tea light has been extinguished or the melter has been turned off, the wax will re-harden ready for use next time. Unlike candles, the wax in melts will not evaporate. You can re-use the wax several times until the fragrance has completely dispersed.

Important Practices

Keep melted wax away from children and pets.
Always use within sight, and never leave unattended.
Always ensure that you do not overfill your bowl
Wax will remain hot after the tea light has been extinguished or your burner has been switched off.
Do not try to move the oil burner or wax melter until it has cooled completely, and the wax has solidified.
Do not add water or fragrance oils to the bowl under any circumstances.
Keep wax clear of debris
Only ever use unscented tea lights
Only use standard-sized tea lights (burn time is approx. 4hrs). Never use the larger 8hr tea lights!
And never use more than 1 tealight at a time. Ensure that the surface under the melter is heatproof.
Do not eat!

Wax Melt Tips

Ensure the tea light has been extinguished or you have turned the melter off. Allow the wax to cool slightly and simply pop a cotton wool ball or some tissue in the bowl. This will soak up the melted wax.
Please dispose of the wax carefully. DO NOT pour down the plughole (the wax will harden and cause a blockage)!! Give the bowl a wipe with a clean piece of kitchen roll to remove any leftover residue, and the melter is ready to use again.

Please do not place your burner in the freezer. This can cause the wax melter or glass top to fracture and could cause the burner to become unsafe.

How To Burn Your Candle

1. Light your candle in a well-ventilated room, away from drafts, or fans, which can cause sooting (black marks on the vessel), or rapid, uneven burning.

2. Burn regular-sized candles for one and a half to two hours at a time. Burning for less time can cause the candle to 'tunnel', which leaves a build-up of wax around the vessel's sides. Burning for longer periods (over four hours) can cause the wick to move, or slant.

3. Make sure you stop burning your candle when 10mm of wax remains at the bottom, keeping an eye on a burning candle when the wax is low.

How To Care For Wicks

1. Keep the wax pool clear of wick trimmings and matches, as debris in the wax can act as a secondary wick, encouraging your candle to burn faster.

2. After extinguishing the flame with a snuffer, centre and straighten the wick. Burning for too long can cause the wick to move, or slant. If you see a flaming wick come close to the vessel wall, extinguish the flame and straighten the wick to prevent the vessel from cracking.

3. Long, or crooked wicks can create high flames, smoking, or sooting. Trimming the wick to 5mm (when the wax has set) is the easiest way to prevent this.

How To Store Your Candle

1. When your candle isn't in use, store in a cool dry place and cover it with an elegant candle lid to protect the quality wax from dust, which can dull its scent and cause problems during burning.

2. Condensation on the surface of a candle is a sign it has not been stored correctly, or has been stored for too long. Make sure to wipe this away with a paper towel before lighting.

3. Storing candles for too long can affect the scent, so use your candle in a reasonable time to make the most of its beautiful fragrance.
